MUSIC IN CULTURE
The following five lesson plans are from a course that I designed and taught as a part of Crescendo Detroit, an after school educational program for under resourced kids in Detroit. Each class session was roughly 25 minutes and was targeted at students anywhere from ages 8-18. The following curriculum can be modified to fit any setting as needed.
The premise of the following course is to examine the role music has in specific elements of students' culture in the United States and to compare that to the role of music in other countries around the globe.
