PROGRAM NOTE
In 2021, my favorite show was a shockingly fantastic, animated video game adaptation called Arcane. I never played the video game, but I watched the 9-episode tv show three times. It was full of unforgettable characters, rich interpersonal relationships, and gorgeous imagery. And the dialogue was often emotional and poetic. A line that stuck with me “In pursuit of greatness, we forgot to do good.” For over a year, this line has been a bit of guiding principal for me as an educator. As I’ve been caught up in trying to become the best educator, it’s a reminder to make each day for my students a good one. Getting caught up in the big picture can let the smaller pieces slip by. Even further, greatness is built on many good things. One hundred tiny steps. Not a giant leap. |
